Client is Hiring a Graphic Designer / Illustrator THIS JOB IS CLOSED

We are helping a client who is hiring a Graphic Designer / Illustrator on a contract basis. Someone who is currently homeschooling their children is strongly preferred.

Job Description:

One of the authors we are working with needs a graphic designer / illustrator to work on 100+ images for a new textbook.  As the graphic designer / illustrator on this project you will be working closely with the author, receiving their requirements/specs and you will work your graphic magic to come up with an accompanying design. The illustrator needs to be able to draw detailed images in color. The author is open to any medium. The illustrator will need to know how to turn their work into a digital file. Will need to be able to use Adobe Photoshop. The images will most likely require revisions. Most images will be a quarter page to half page.  Compensation will be per image/size. Approximately 100 images (conservative estimate) over the course of a year will be needed. There is  potential for this to be a several book deal.

Requirements:

  • High level of understanding in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator.
  • The illustrator needs to be able to draw detailed images in color.
  • Will need artwork in digital files
  • Ability to understand specs and transform them into solid designs.
  • Reliable and responsive work ethic.
  • Creative – able to turn an idea into art.
  • Ability to commit to working on the project over the next 12+ months.

Trish

Trish is one of the owners of Hip Homeschool Moms. She has been married to her best friend, David, for 20 years and they have three sons (ages 19, 17 and 15). Trish is from the coast of North Carolina, but they now live in rural West Tennessee on a 40+ acre farm. She has been homeschooling since 2009 and her homeschool style leans towards a Montessori approach with a heavy emphasis on hands-on learning. They also own a small business that Trish runs from home. Trish’s family is Messianic and they love studying the Scriptures, learning Hebrew and growing in their faith and walk daily. In her spare time, Trish loves to write, work in their garden and can regularly be found trying to learn something new, modeling that learning is indeed a life-long endeavor!
